Visitors are invited to tour our temporary exhibit where the rich culture and history of the Kanien'kehá:ka can be observed throughout the museum. From the founding of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy to the Oka Crisis of 1990, the exhibit features key cultural and historical excerpts that best explain who we are as Kanien'kehá:ka.
Founded in 1978, the Kanien'kehá:ka Onkwawén:na Raotitióhkwa Language and Cultural Center (KOR) was established to preserve and enrich the language and culture of the Kanien'kehá:ka (Mohawk) people of Kahnawà:ke. Our center is located in the Kahnawà:ke Mohawk territory south of Montreal, Canada.
The Kanien'keháka Onkwawén:na Raotitióhkwa is a vital and dedicated catalyst for leading and supporting all Kahnawa'kehró:non (Mohawks of Kahnawà:ke) in the practice, maintenance, and reverence of our culture. Through its archival works, language initiatives and exhibitions, many of our values, customs and traditions can be shared with all people. Cultural and educational activities therein ensure the continued existence of our present and future generations as Kanien'kehá:ka.
The KOR is currently operating within the Kahnawà:ke Office Complex (2nd floor), as construction works are underway for the new Multicultural Arts Building – a state of the art cultural arts center which will house KOR upon its opening in the community (Spring 2026).
