The Haut-Richelieu Museum

In the heart of Old St-Jean, the Haut-Richelieu Museum diffuses the regional history and promotes ancient and contemporary Quebec ceramics. The Museum is located in the old public market building which is also the old fire house, a grand patrimonial building dating back to the 19th century. Come discover the rich history of our region!

Our exhibitions
Our permanent exhibition, ‘’ the Haut-Richelieu: Water, Earth, and Fire” launched in 2017, showcases local history, and ancient and contemporary quebec ceramics. The exhibition also presents a view of the economic, social, and political history of the region. As you move along through the collection, you will walk by the Silsby fire pump, a classified cultural property. The museum also showcases temporary exhibitions with a diversified program. During the summer months, you can discover our exhibitions and our patrimonial building accompanied by an animator.
