DISCOVERING ART AND ARTISTS
A must-attend family-friendly cultural event in Montérégie, Rencontre des Arts, organized by the ART[O] cooperative, has been a shining star in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu and the Haut-Richelieu region for over 30 years, offering the public FREE access to a wide variety of artistic works. This unmissable artistic event showcases thirty-six highly talented artists from across Québec, representing diverse disciplines.
In 2025, the 33rd edition will take place on May 23, 24, and 25 outdoors at the new Place Publique in Vieux-Saint-Jean, in a festive atmosphere perfect for family encounters and artistic discovery.
Plus, there will be entertainment for the whole family:
Site Animation – May 23-24-25: Enjoy roaming musicians, La Fanfare Faux Nez and Swing Tonic Band, stilt walkers, jugglers, and the ART[O] tent where you can explore artists' works through three interactive stations of LA CARGAISON.
Special Weekend Activities:
- Friday, May 23 – 1 PM: Creative workshop for the whole family
- Saturday, May 24 & Sunday, May 25 – 1 PM: Circus workshop for the whole family
- Saturday, May 24 & Sunday, May 25 – 1 PM: Ceramics workshop for the whole family
- Saturday, May 24 & Sunday, May 25 – 1 PM: Face painting for children
At the same time, a cultural trail through a dozen downtown venues—including cultural spaces and local businesses—will offer exhibitions, craft demonstrations, and creative workshops, for an immersive and family-friendly artistic experience.
