The Rivière-du-Moulin Park, a true natural oasis in the heart of the city, invites you to explore its marked and looped trails for hiking, snowshoeing, or cross-country skiing. Depending on the season, various equipment is available for rent: canoes, single or double kayaks, pedal boats, paddleboards, adapted bikes, cross-country skis (classic or skate style), ice skates, snowshoes, and crampons.
The river that runs through the park offers stunning views of the lush vegetation and local wildlife. In summer, you can walk or cycle along certain trails, while in winter, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and ice skating take center stage, allowing you to fully enjoy this unique natural setting.
Located in the Chicoutimi district of Saguenay, Rivière-du-Moulin Park covers 292 hectares, with 92.8% of terrestrial environments and 7.2% of aquatic habitats. Nestled in the heart of the mixed forest, within the bioclimatic zone of the yellow birch-fir forest, it offers a transition landscape between deciduous and boreal forests. You’ll find species such as yellow birch, red maple, balsam fir, white spruce, and eastern white cedar.
