The Société des Parcs régional de la Matawinie is proud to present a brand new tourist product aimed at making people discover this magnificent body of water with an area of 95 km2, bordered by several fine sandy beaches, numerous islands, a hydroelectric dam, fauna and flora typical of the boreal forest. Lac Taureau is the largest lake less than 2 hours from Montreal.
Sail aboard the brand new Bateau-Mouche offering a 360-degree panoramic view and the possibility of making stops depending on the cruise chosen. Few lake cruises in Quebec offer a natural and wild landscape with the possibility of stops along the way.

Did you know that Saint-Michel-des-Saints was formerly called Saint-Ignace-du-Lac which was flooded in 1931 for the construction of a hydroelectric dam, which led to the creation of Lac Taureau and the displacement of the town. The old hill, the highest point of the village is today an island where it is possible to observe several vestiges of this time. You will disembark directly on the beach to visit the island before returning to your starting point. On the way, observe the surrounding fauna, you could see the emblematic bald eagle which nests near the lake. Animated cruise.
