ExpoRail Party
July 18 & 19 2026
Dive into the heart of the birth of rail transportation in Canada during an exceptional weekend at Exporail! To celebrate railway history, the replica of the Dorchester, the first locomotive to operate in the country, will be featured in a special presentation that will transport you back to 1836. Costumed interpreter-guides will portray railway workers, 19th-century passengers, and notable historical figures such as John Molson and Louis-Joseph Papineau, bringing this foundational era to life.
Families will enjoy a festive and immersive program:
- A costume station where visitors can step into the shoes of travelers from the past
- A Dorchester Passport to complete throughout the activities
- A wooden steam locomotive craft activity
- A creative building block workshop for children and adults
On site, Operation Lifesaver will offer an interactive railway safety awareness booth, while children will leave with balloons and temporary tattoos.
To extend the adventure, board the NJ34 railcar for a passenger train ride—an authentic experience that is part of Exporail’s reputation.
A festive, historical, and family-friendly weekend awaits you— a unique opportunity to celebrate Canada’s railway heritage in a warm and lively atmosphere!
