The Horne Smelter invites you to a free guided tour that blends heritage, science, and fascinating discoveries.
Did you know it’s the only copper smelter in Canada? This is a rare opportunity to explore it from the inside… and witness a molten copper being pour just a few metres away. A spectacular moment that leaves a lasting impression!
The tour also takes you back in time, beginning in Rouyn-Noranda’s very first luxury home. The route also includes a stop at the oldest building in the city: a log cabin now converted into a museum.
An immersive experience at the heart of an iconic industrial site, where the municipality’s history began.
