Magasin général Dumulon - Historical site

Abitibi-Témiscamingue

It was in 1924 that the Dumulon family built two buildings on the tip of Lake Osisko: the first general store in the future city and their family residence. Over the years, the historic site also became a post office. Classified as historic since 1979, we can visit this museum which immerses us in the very beginning of colonization. During the summer season, our guides-animators interpret the children of Agnès and Jos Dumulon to bring a journey through time.

In addition to visits to the general store and the residence, come and find a panoply of regional products: works, jewellery, soaps, agri-food products and many other handmade craft items. A perfect family outing for young and old!

During the winter season, RécréOsisko offers a free skate and snowshoe loan service directly from the General Store. Come see us to enjoy winter!

NEW: The General Store has had a makeover. A brand new permanent exhibition and a completely renovated boutique await you. Come discover the history of Rouyn-Noranda in a new way!
