The Laurentian Ski Museum (MSL) was founded in Saint-Sauveur in 1982. Recognized as a museum institution accredited by the government of Quebec since 2019, its mission is to dedicate itself to the research, collection, conservation, interpretation, and sharing through the dissemination of the history of skiing in the Laurentians, the cradle of skiing in Canada, showcasing a unique material and immaterial heritage. The museum offers various educational and cultural experiences and exhibitions to different audiences. It holds a collection of over 7500 artifacts and 20 private archive funds.

In June 2023, the MSL moved to new premises located in the heart of the City of Saint-Sauveur, at the intersection of Main Street and Gare Street, thus attracting an increasingly large audience.

Since 2012, the museum has presented its permanent exhibition "The History of Skiing in the Laurentians: Living in Winter, From Winter, and With Winter," which offers visitors a journey through time and a better understanding of the influence of skiing on the Laurentian territory. Its renewal, scheduled for 2025, is entitled "Get Your Skis On! A History of the Laurentians" and aims to immerse visitors in a unique winter experience, both cognitive and sensory, inviting everyone to relive or discover the history and development of skiing in the region.

The MSL was honoured with the Award of Merit in Interpretation - Community Component from the Quebec Association for Interpretation of Heritage in 2011. It was also a finalist in the Community Programs category at the Governor General's History Awards of Canada, receiving an honorable mention in 2012.
