Fall at Parc des Appalaches: A Spectacular Season for Hiking and Nature
Every year, the arrival of autumn transforms the forests of the Appalachian Mountains into a spectacular display of red, orange and yellow. From September into October, Parc des Appalaches becomes an inviting destination for hiking, photography and outdoor recreation, with changing landscapes to discover along its trails.
Fall Hiking and Panoramic Views
With mountains, forests, lakes and rivers spread throughout the territory, the park offers plenty of ways to enjoy the fall season. Hikers can explore trails leading to scenic viewpoints, while visitors looking for a different way to experience the landscape can take to the water by canoe or kayak on the Rivière Noire Nord-Ouest and follow its winding route through the natural surroundings.
Extend Your Nature Getaway
For those who want to turn a day outdoors into a longer getaway, camping and refuge accommodations provide an opportunity to stay within the park and experience the peaceful atmosphere of the area after the day's activities. Spending the night in nature also means having more time to enjoy the changing colours, quiet evenings and fresh mountain air.
A Dog-Friendly Destination
Dogs are welcome throughout the park as long as they remain on a leash, making it possible to enjoy an autumn outing with the whole family.
