La Pulperie de Chicoutimi / Regional Museum of the Saguenay – Lac-Saint-Jean is located downtown and is opened year-round. It is a cultural and touristic animation centre dedicated to the preservation and valorization of heritage, as well as the promotion of art. La Pulperie is a major historical site in the region and a museum. It is featuring a century of history.

The Reserve of the Museum showcases more than 26 000 objects and works of art. Discover the permanent exhibition "Chek8timi" that will make you live an immersive, interactive, historical and archaeological experience in the heart of the Chicoutimi trading post. Come and visit the famous house of painter Arthur Villeneuve and discover his universe! Explore traveling exhibitions from worldwide museums, including the ones designed and created by the team at La Pulperie. You can also walk around at your leisure on our hiking trails and interpretation circuit amidst an immense park.

Celebrating the Fleurdelisé
From May 4 to September 22, 2024

The exhibition traces the history of the adoption of the Fleurdelisé as the official flag of Quebec and celebrates its anniversary. The story of the Fleurdelisé told in the exhibition allows us to commemorate the anniversary of its adoption and brilliantly illustrates our collective Quebec pride! An exhibition by Pointe-à-Callière, Montreal Archaeology and History Complex, through the support of the Ministère de la Langue française, adapted by La Pulperie.

One passion, two wheels, three stories
From June 1, 2024 to April 27, 2025

The bicycle has profoundly changed societies and individuals since its appearance in the 19th century. It alone is a real vector of change. Thanks to its dozens of bicycles from all eras, this exhibition brilliantly illustrates the special and unique relationship we have with this invention which literally changed the world.

Manifestations of Mystery
From June 1 to September 22, 2024

Beyond the excessive and at times outrageous nature of his works, Daniel T. Tremblay takes a critical look at society around him. As a self-taught painter born in Chicoutimi in 1956, he brings to life his visions, developing connections between here and elsewhere, between the known and the unknown.
