Sherbrooke Museum of Fine Arts - Exhibitions

Eastern Townships, Magog - Sherbrooke

Located in the museum district, in a magnificent heritage building in the heart of downtown, the Sherbrooke Museum of Fine Arts' mission is to preserve, discover and appreciate the undeniable richness of the fine arts of Quebec and the Eastern Townships. Offering a rich and varied program of exhibitions and activities for the whole family (creative workshop in the style of the artists in the collection, story-and-craft workshop for little ones, Art Hive, guided tour, outdoor activity From the footbridge at the Museum, Evening of thirst for expression in a 5@7 and +++!), formula, the MBAS offers a real foray into the fascinating world of visual arts and artistic creation. In addition to the permanent exhibition Couleurs Manifestes which highlights around fifty works from the collection, from Jean Paul Riopelle to Frederick Simpson Coburn (flagship artist of the Eastern Townships), there are also temporary exhibitions of high quality.

Along the Lac-des-Nations promenade (Sherbrooke), there is the outdoor exhibition Parcours Photo Sherbrooke.  To mark this 10th edition, the Sherbrooke Museum of Fine Arts and the Jacques-Cartier Arts and Culture Committee are presenting an exhibition showcasing the works of artists Annick Sauvé, Arlette Vittecoq, and René Houle, one of the founding members of the project. These original creations are brought together under the theme "City in Motion."

Through their lenses, these professional photographers were inspired by the movement that takes place in our city every day, whether physical, creative, social, demographic, territorial, or architectural. Roaming its streets, they captured its vibrancy and essence. They now invite us to see this defining place around us with a fresh perspective.
