The 1000 Islands consists of 1,864 Islands that straddle the Canada-US Border along the St Lawrence, a world class waterfront destination and a boater paradise that attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors from around the globe. The area offers breathtaking views a multitude of incredible activities and attractions, historic sites including the world-famous UNESCO designated heritage sites the Frontenac Arch Biosphere and Rideau Canal Heritage Route just as starters. The area was and remains the summer playground for many of the ultra-rich and famous it is a region that is steeped in a truly magical history and beauty that lies within a 2 and half hour leisurely drive from Montreal. The Thousand Islands is simply a must do trip for sightseeing, for families and friends of all ages.
