1000 Islands region
The 1000 Islands consists of 1,864 Islands that straddle the Canada-US Border along the St Lawrence, a world class waterfront destination and a boater paradise that attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors from around the globe. The area offers breathtaking views a multitude of incredible activities and attractions, historic sites including the world-famous UNESCO designated heritage sites the Frontenac Arch Biosphere and Rideau Canal Heritage Route just as starters. The area was and remains the summer playground for many of the ultra-rich and famous it is a region that is steeped in a truly magical history and beauty that lies within a 2 and half hour leisurely drive from Montreal. The Thousand Islands is simply a must do trip for sightseeing, for families and friends of all ages. And if you love cruises, watersports, power boating, sailing, kayaking, fishing and outdoor adventures this is one of the destination considered to be one amongst the most beautiful places in the world!
