The Saint Joseph’s Oratory of Mount Royal has recently undergone several notable developments.
In February 2025, a new 5,000 m², four-story welcome pavilion was inaugurated. This modern and environmentally friendly structure offers visitors an enhanced experience, featuring unprecedented views of the sanctuary through large windows and glass ceilings. The pavilion also includes a bell tower housing a restored 62-bell carillon, the only traditional carillon in the province, representing an important part of Quebec’s heritage.
Additionally, in December 2024, Father Bernard Antoine, C.S.C., was appointed rector of the Oratory, succeeding Father Claude Grou, C.S.C. This transition marks a new phase in the leadership of the sanctuary.
These developments are part of the "Reaching New Heights for the Future" project, aimed at modernizing and enriching the experience of pilgrims and visitors to Saint Joseph’s Oratory of Mount Royal.
