MUSÉE NATIONAL DES BEAUX-ARTS DU QUÉBEC
A rich architectural and artistic experience

The museum is proud of its unparalleled collection of Québécois art, offering a vast panorama of Quebec’s art history from the 17th century to present day through a collection containing over 42,000 pieces. Located in Québec City, a World Heritage Site, the MNBAQ borders the Plains of Abraham. This prime location between city and nature gives the museum a unique charm and makes it a must-see attraction.

An integral part of the art district, the MNBAQ is highly involved in its community. The museum enjoys close ties with city’s major cultural events throughout the seasons, and extends its reach beyond its walls with Lumière sur l’art, an event during which giant lights illuminate Cartier Avenue.

Discover the MNBAQ’s Pierre Lassonde Pavilion and its majestic architecture, and explore the galleries featuring a collection of contemporary art from post-1960 Québec, including Inuit art, decorative art, and design.

Beyond its exhibitions, the MNBAQ offers its visitors a wide array of experiences to enjoy. The museum organizes multiple cultural activities: from guided tours to specialized lectures and creative workshops, art is celebrated in its many forms at the MNBAQ!

The museum is a showcase for Québec creation; its Librairie-Boutique holds the largest collection of art books in Québec and its restaurant, Café Québecor by Laurent Godbout, serves food that is just as artful as anything seen in the galleries. So many reasons to keep coming back!.
