The Vallée-de-l’Or (Valley of Gold) is the gateway to Abitibi-Témiscamingue, with Val-d’Or, Senneterre and Malartic as its three main hubs. The whole area is enveloped in a wondrous natural environment.
Making your way past lake after lake, you are struck by the deep blue of the water and the beauty of the surrounding landscape, ending your outing at La Vérendrye wildlife reserve. Then there’s the unmissable gold collection at the Abitibi-Témiscamingue mineralogy museum in Malartic. And the Vallée-de-l’Or’s great mountain biking opportunities at Mount Bell in Senneterre, the Val-d’Or recreational forest or the all-season trail in Malartic.
