In the heart of Old Wendake, enjoy a living experience with dancers and drummers from different First Nations from here and elsewhere. From the grand entrance of a sacred nature, through the emotion caused by the rhythm of the drums representing the beating of the heart of Mother Earth, attend the different traditional dance competitions where the physical endurance, the style of each dancer and the colors of the Regalias of each Nation represented on the deck highlighted.

Artisans, kiosks, demonstrations of maintaining traditions, traditional dishes, indigenous shows, youth area and many others! A colorful event that the whole family will enjoy!

It was in 2017 that the idea of a major event in the heart of Quebec City was born as part of the festivities surrounding the 150th anniversary of Confederation. It was then that the Council of the Huron-Wendat Nation and the Assembly of First Nations Quebec-Labrador, which represents all the Nations in Quebec and which constitutes the voice of these Nations and their communities, took charge of organize a major cultural event with the 11 Indigenous Nations of Quebec, in Quebec City.

The Rendez-vous des Artisans et Artistes de Wendake is an annual gathering bringing together artisans and artists from different First Nations of Quebec. Through their knowledge, their interpersonal skills and their know-how, visitors are invited to discover their culture, their history and their pride. Artistic performances, craft workshops, demonstrations of traditional techniques and conferences are on offer. Do not miss ! The event is offered free of charge.

The multiple craft shops that cover the territory of Wendake offer a variety of objects, both traditional and modern, demonstrating Wendat know-how. Jewelry, drums, moccasins, clothing, snowshoes, leathers, works of art, furs and sacred herbs of the Nation are just a short list of everything you can find in the Wendake boutiques!
