Mashteuiatsh, located on the shores of Pekuakami (Lac Saint-Jean), opens the doors to the only Aboriginal community in the region. Meeting point of the Pekuakamiulnuatsh, the first occupants of this vast territory, Mashteuiatsh is a favorite place for a unique view of the Pekuakami, a real inland sea. Ilnu Carrefour d'accueil is the base for tourists seeking first contact and information about the products and tourist attractions of the community. Come to meet a unique people with its history and millennia culture still alive.

Mamuhitunatun – Great Gathering of First Nations
The 19th edition of Mamuhitunanu

Grand Gathering of First Nations will be held from July 5 to 14, 2024 at the Uashassihtsh site in Mashteuiatsh. Cultural sharing activities, traditional sports activities, musical performances, traditional Ilnu and inter-tribal dances (Pow-Wow), as well as a spectacular fireworks display are offered each year.

Ilnu museum
Between culture and nature, visitors will discover the culture of the Pekuakamiulnuatsh. This is an event not to be missed this summer. The Native American Museum offers a variety of activities introducing visitors to the culture of the Pekuakamiulnuatsh through its exhibits and its Nutshimitsh – Dans la forêt outdoor interpretive trail. Various cultural and artistic activities await you throughout the summer. Manufacturing workshops are also offered.

The Native American Museum offers bannock tastings. Visitors will also have the opportunity to purchase bannock on site at the boutique as well as several local products.
