Kahnawà:ke holds various Food Festivals throughout the year. The food festivals initiative was created in 2016, as a means to showcase our traditional foods that coincide with our cycle of ceremonies. The food fests are a fun, respectful and economically beneficial way in which to share our culture, without disrupting the local environment.

Maple Food Fest – March 2024
Kahnawà:ke Tourism will host the 9th Annual Maple Food Festival in March. The Maple Food Fest is a collective event, where the theme of maple and maple culinary creations are promoted throughout the community. We look forward seeing you all this maple season at our Sugar Shack Brunch fundraising event on Saturday, March 23, 2024. This event is in collaboration with Tourism, Kahnawà:ke Youth Center and The Rail Coal Fire Bistro. For more information, visit kahnawaketourism.com

Pow Wow - July 12-13-14, 2024
Powwow time is an opportunity for First Nations Indigenous people to come together, dance, sing, visit, renew old friendships and make new ones. Originally, a powwow, or “party” as it was once called, was held in the spring to welcome new beginnings in life. Often, different tribal nations would come together for the occasion. During these general meetings, Native Americans would settle disputes between different groups, form alliances, and trade with each other. It was also an opportunity for families to organize baptism and tribute ceremonies. The original powwows often had religious significance and therefore consisted of different religious songs and dances. Powwows are open to the general public where neighbors, family and friends come together to share our rich culture. Tickets for the annual Echoes of a Proud Nation Powwow can be purchased online at kahnawaketourism.com

There is no entry fee for the event.

Harvest Festival - October 2024
Harvest Food Fest is a cultural festival that aims to showcase Iroquois food in relation to the fall harvest season. Throughout the month of October, Kahnawà:ke businesses that offer special harvest menus, market items, fresh produce, canned goods and other harvest products participate in the festival.
