Visit Canada’s First National Historic Park
Exhibitions, café, public art, guided bus tours, treasure hunts, escape games, outdoor activities, and live performances

The site of the great battles of 1759 and 1760, Battlefields Park includes the Plains of Abraham and Parc des Braves. Beyond its historical significance, the Plains of Abraham are to Québec City what Central Park is to New York and Hyde Park is to London—an invaluable urban park. A place for gathering, remembrance, celebration, and relaxation, the Plains of Abraham welcome millions of visitors each year and host numerous major events.

The Plains of Abraham Museum serves as the gateway to the park, offering immersive exhibitions and a guided bus tour. Among the featured exhibits is the temporary exhibition Québec 1775: Snowbound and Under Siege, which recounts a pivotal moment in the history of the Plains of Abraham, Québec City, and North America—the attack on Québec by the American revolutionaries. This event was one of the first major military operations of the U.S. War of Independence.

During the summer season, cultural events take place on the Edwin-Bélanger Bandstand stage. On-site, La Maison Smith café at the Plains of Abraham offers coffee, food, refreshing beverages, and a beautiful terrace to relax.

The Plains of Abraham also provide a variety of outdoor activities, including escape games and a family-friendly treasure hunt. The park features multi-use trails for walking, running, and cycling. Two additional must-see attractions include the Jeanne d’Arc Garden, a true gem of the Plains, and the new public art and dialogue space at Cap Diamant, where two monumental works highlight Indigenous cultures.
